What attributes are of importance now when compared to 20 years ago?

Here’s an interesting update to research carried out by the Center for Talent Innovation (Sylvia Ann Hewlett 2024). See article here.

Focusing specifically on communication traits, I’m not surprised to see ‘superior’ speaking skills being needed, given the increase in online communication.

Authenticity, thankfully, is on the up, as is the use of body language.

Make of it what you will, but the bottom line is that if you want to command the room and be seen as an authentic leader in your field, then you need to be a good communicator.
