Breathe Power Into Your Voice

To have a stronger voice, you need to breathe deeper – it’s really that simple.

So, here’s a great exercise – the ‘banana bend’.

Breathe in and stretch one arm up overhead, forming a banana shape. Do it on both sides, at least five times, breathing deeper each time.

With a side bend, you stretch the intercostal muscles between the ribs. This creates more space for inhalation.

The banana bend has three benefits:

1. It exercises your intercostal muscles.

2. It strengthens your diaphragm.

3. It increases your lung capacity.

All three benefits lead to a stronger, more dynamic voice.

Try it out for yourself.
