From Voice Artist To Voice Expert
London in the 1980’s was alive with colour and creativity and I was lucky enough to be right at the heart of the action, working in the world of TV, film and music videos. Truth be told, I was a little bit starstruck in the beginning – working on video shoots with Dire Straits, A-ha and George Michael but I fell in love with the process of film making – film shoots, editing suites, audio dubbing, booking actors and voice artists.
I was fortunate to secure an internship at the BBC as an assistant film editor, working on documentaries, acclaimed TV dramas and feature films, and this was where my love of voice really began.
Having discovered a love for the microphone, I learned all the skills of a voice-over artist, and over the years I would voice TV commercials, corporate videos, documentary series, E-learning programs, cartoons and promos.
My next big break was when I won a place on the BBC Television Director’s Training Course under full scholarship, writing, shooting and editing my own film under the guidance of the most creative people I had ever met.
Then, a chance meeting with a Hong Kong film producer, working on a Jackie Chan movie, had me on the next flight to Asia.

Landing into the global centre for film dubbing (as Hong Kong was then) my love for all things voice increased. I soon became the voice director and producer for the three biggest publishing companies in the region – Pearson, Oxford University Press, and Macmillan.
As the need for professional voice talent grew, I founded a multi-lingual voice talent agency – All Voice Talent – the first of its kind in Hong Kong. People would often ask ‘How can I become a voice over artist?’, and this inspired me to create my first Voice Over Training Course, coaching people to turn their passion for voice acting into a money-making career.
Then Hong Kong’s prestigious financial industry started to recognize the benefits of vocal training skills for its management teams, and invited me to create customized voice courses. So I created a range of voice coaching programs teaching communication skills for impact, power and authority, first for financial and legal professionals, and then for a whole range of different industries.
Since then, I’ve coached business professionals from the financial, legal, media, real estate, accounting, entertainment, hospitality and retail industries, all with one goal in mind – to help good speakers become GREAT speakers.
I’ve coached some of Asia’s top CEOs, delivered webinars to their global teams, trained TEDx speakers, created best-selling, online video courses, and presented workshops in: Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney, Dubai, London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Ho Chi Min, Hong Kong and Macau.
Over my 30 year journey I’ve spent over 10,000 studio hours directing teams of voice over artists to deliver 100% perfect audio recordings for global publishers, international advertising agencies and multinational corporations. So, I can confidently say that I know what makes a good voice and a good speaker.
Having been lucky enough to find my own calling, I’m passionate about sharing this by helping people find their own true, confident voice.
